The Philippine Consulate General would like to update the public on the most recent situation report from the Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRMMC) dated 06 October 2011 6: 00 a.m., detailing the effects of Typhoon Nesat (Pedring) and Typhoon Nalgae (Quiel) in the Philippines:

Typhoon Nesat (Pedring) has moved out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility on September 28, 2011 with the following effects:.

• A total of 635,405 families/ 2,957,613 persons in 35 provinces in Northern and Central Luzon were affected;

• There were 71 fatalities, 66 injured, 25 missing and 131 rescued/survivors.

• Initial cost of damages to properties including infrastructures and agriculture amounted to 9.5 billion pesos.

Typhoon Nesat (Quiel) has moved out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility on 02 October 2011.

• A total of 205,058 families/1,015,069 persons in 17 provinces in Northern Luzon were affected;

• There were11 fatalities, 12 injured , 1 missing and 4 rescued;

• The estimated cost of damage to infrastructure in Region II (Cagayan Region) is PhP 115,075,527.81.
