The Philippine Consulate General is pleased to announce that the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs will be conducting  the  2013 examinations for Foreign Service Officers (FSOs) on the following dates:

Part I

Qualifying Test

10 March 2013

Part II

Preliminary Interview

06 April 2013

Part III

Written Test

10, 11, & 12 April 2013

Part IV

Psychological Test

To be announced

Part V

Oral Test

To be announced

The applicants should comply with the following criteria/requirements:

  • The applicant should be a natural-born Filipino citizen and must present a copy of her/his valid passport and visa or a valid contract of employment in the host country;
  • The applicant should not be more than thirty-five (35) years of age on the day of
    the Qualifying Test on 10  March 2013;
  • The   the applicant should have obtained at least a four (4) year bachelor’s degree.
    Submission of relevant documents such as transcript of records, diploma or  
    certificate   of graduation is required;
  • The applicant should have undergone employment or undertaken further studies, preferably for at least two (2) years. The evaluation of this requirement will be made by the BFSE upon receipt of the application forms from Posts.
  • If married to a foreigner, the applicant must secure from the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, through the Board of Foreign Service Examinations an authority to take the FSO exams.
  • If applicant has dual or multiple citizenships, he/she should submit a notarized affidavit stating that upon passing the examinations, he/.she intends to renounce his/her allegiance to all of his/her countries of foreign citizenship.


Filipino citizens who are interested may submit their completed application forms and attachments to the Philippine Consulate General on or before 25 January 2013. Eligible applicants must pay a non-refundable examination fee of Php.500.00 upon the submission of application forms and other required documents to the Consulate General.
